Observation of morphology of the tidal flat and field survey of the bottom sediment, river water and creek water were carried out.
Relation between vertical profile of iron concentration and rainfall and characteristics of vertical diffusivity in the pycnocline and oxygen consumption rate at bottom were clarified. Denetrification rate, inorganic nitrogen concentration and grain size distribution of sediment were measured.
The systems for water quality analysis and numerical simulation were constructed. Basic monitoring data taken by national and prefectural agencies are collected. Monthly monitoring survey was started. The survey of residual current and sediment transport process in the inner Ariake Sea was conducted.
