Research Target
The member of the core research 3 will investigate construction of social and economic system and cultural succession in a tidal flat and shallow sea where we aim at symbiosis with nature.
Research Outline
We tackles the above-mentioned theme focusing on the research in requirements for the agriculture, forestry and fishing which can maintain the Ariake sea coast.
The unstable harvest and transition of the amount of production of dried-seaweed(see vegetable), and the slump of clams are the destabilizing factors in complex occupation system in the Ariake sea coast.
In local culture and an economical research section, we will study the state of the above-mentioned local jobs in the coast , and aim at symbiosis with nature, in somewhat longer research span than other two core researches.
Moreover, we'll elucidate and record the tidal flat occupation system and culture used continuously by the people, exhibit the tidal flat in the crisis of disappearance on web from the global viewpoint of Ariake sea, South Korea, and Asia areas, and finally investigate about sustainable use of tidal flat.
Main Research Task
- Construction of the fishery use system in the tidal flat and shallow sea region, including sustainable dried-seaweed culture cooperation.
- Research about the diversity of the fishing activity in a tidal flat region.
- Comparative study of a complex occupation system about the continuous system of Japan and South Korea and many Asia areas, including the reclaimed land farming.
- Research on the habitation space system in the low flat in Ariake sea coast.
- Construction of the database on the social determination about Isahaya Bay and the Ariake sea problem.
- Construction of the database and GIS about development of the tidal flat and shallow sea region in the Ariake Sea.
